Howard Aloysius Waguespack

Howard is survived by his wife of 56 years, Mary Jan Bourgeois; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Leslie Waguespack (Statia) and Linden Waguespack (Karen); mother-in-law, Betty Bourgeois; two sons and daughters-in-law, Glenn Waguespack (Rachel), and Brian Waguespack (Katia); and four grandchildren; Olivia (23), Axel (22), Harlan (19) and Hanno (17).

Howard was preceded in death by his mother and father, Hilda Haydel Waguespack and Fernand Waguespack, and sister, Hilda Waguespack McKay Pilcher.

Howard was born on December 17, 1939, and grew up in Vacherie, Louisiana, in St. James Parish. Howard graduated from Louisiana State University with a degree in Chemical Engineering in 1961 and entered the U.S. Army Chemical Corps. After his honorable discharge in 1965, Howard began a long career with DuPont chemical company, which he continued for 37 years until his retirement.

Howard was a faithful husband and loving father. He loved to go sailing and take the family out on his sailboat at the Pleasure Island Yacht Club. In retirement, Howard developed his photography skills, landing many photos of butterflies and flowers in the New Braunfels Monthly. Howard also enjoyed participating in walks as part of the NB March-undWandergruppe.

A funeral mass for Howard will be held Monday, June 16, 2025 at 10:00 AM at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 386 N Castell Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. An interment will occur at Sts Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery Mausoleum, 116 S. Peace Ave, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
