

James “Jim” Monroe Ruley, 89, of New Braunfels passed away on Monday, January 31, 2011 at Colonial Manor Care Center. He was born to Jennie (White) Ruley and Charles King Ruley in Franklin, Kentucky on September 15, 1921. He married Frances Kohlenberg on December 24, 1946 at the First Protestant Church in New Braunfels. He served in the United States Army Air Corps during WWII and was a member of the American Legion and the V.F.W. He worked as a Traffic Manager for Dittlinger Roller Mills for over 20 years and later became a Real Estate Broker for Comal Realty. He retired in 1987 and enjoyed travelling, the outdoors gardening and playing Golf.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Ruley; daughter, Nancy Ruley Montgomery and fiancé Darrell Deptawa; son, Gary James Ruley and companion Corinne Johnson; grandchildren, Melissa Ann Bridges, Brennan Thomas Ruley, Blake James Ruley, Barrett James Barbour, and Jonathan James Montgomery; and great-grandson, Parker Bridges. He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers and one sister.
Pubic visitation will begin 10 AM Thursday at Zoeller Funeral Home with the family present to receive friends from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A Graveside service will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, February 4, 2011 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Hope Hospice or to Habitat for Humanity of Comal County.
