Jenevie was born on March 15th, 1934 in Blanco, TX. In her late teens she moved to New Braunfels, TX, where she began working at Mission Valley Mills Textile Plant as a weaver. Soon after, she met her husband, Walter, at the plant and married on July 4th, 1954 at the Little Chapel of St. Paul Lutheran Church in New Braunfels, TX.
Starting in 1972, Jenevie worked in the New Braunfels ISD cheerfully serving food to the many hungry students. Shortly after, she became the supervisor for the New Braunfels High School cafeteria, retiring in 2001. After retirement, she worked for several years at KL Ranch Camp - On The River, welcoming tourists and citizens alike to the beautiful hill country she dearly loved. If she wasn't at the church volunteering, she was busy playing cards and dominoes with family and friends. During the holidays you would catch her creating sparkling outdoor Christmas displays at her house, which the New Braunfels community enjoyed for many years.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, July 1st, 2026, at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels at 10 am with a small reception to follow at the funeral home. She will be laid to rest at the Comal Cemetery with a private burial. Memorials may be made to St. Paul Lutheran Church or the American Cancer Society.
