

Jo Ann Evans, age 91, passed into the hands of God on May 6, 2026. She was born in Natalia, Texas on October 9, 1934. She was the second of three daughters to the late Hazel and Truette Stewart, of Devine, Texas. She grew up in Devine, Texas and married Larry Evans on February 27, 1953 .
She is survived by her two daughters and sons-in-law, Debbie Davis and her husband, Bob, of New Braunfels, Texas and Pegi Coker and her husband, Bob, of San Antonio, Texas; four beloved grandchildren, Taylor Davis and wife Mackie of Kyle, Texas, Cassie Rocha and husband Michael of San Antonio, Texas, John Coker and wife Delilah of San Antonio, Texas and Beth Ann Coker of San Antonio, Texas; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Marlene and Ray Raymond of Yancey, Texas; 2 great-grandsons, Westley and Taylor Davis, sister, Bonnie Mikes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Larry Evans, sister Darlene Porter and brother-in-law Jack Porter.
Jo Ann spent her career days working at Broadway Bank and retired from Chrysler Credit Corp. Jo Ann was a master gardener and her yards and flowerbeds were enjoyed by many. She was quite the talented oil painter in her younger days. Many of her landscapes are now displayed in numerous relatives' homes. She absolutely loved music, especially Alan Jackson, and could always be found singing along to her favorite song, “Remember When”
JoAnn’s most recent home was in New Braunfels, Texas where she moved to be near her daughters.
A Public Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on May 12, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:00 am, followed by a Funeral Service at the same location on May 12, 2026, from 11:00 am to 11:30 am. A Light Reception Following Service will take place at Zoeller Funeral Home on May 12, 2026, beginning at 11:30 am.
A Graveside Service will be held at Yancey Cemetery, 9523 FM462, Yancey, TX, on May 13, 2026, beginning at 11:00 am.
Rest in peace, sweet momma Your spirit has been released to a loving God. Although you will be missed, your memory will always be with us.
