

Jo Lynn Cooper, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother died peacefully in her sleep at home on October 11, 2015. She was 68 years of age. She was born December 2, 1946 in Abilene, Texas to Beauford and Juanez Buntin. She married the love of her life, Howell Cooper, in 1969 and raised two sons, Shawn and Mark. Jo earned Bachelors in English at the University of Texas at Arlington before becoming a teacher. She taught in NBISD at Teen Connection and New Braunfels Middle School for more than 30 years, touching the lives of many. In retirement, she enjoyed sailing and spending time with family and friends.
Jo is survived by her loving husband, Howell Cooper; sons, Shawn Cooper and wife Amy, Mark Cooper and wife Amy; grandchildren, Reagan, Stephanie, Grant, Madison, and Ethan; sisters, Sharon Holden and husband Don, Valorie Gabriel and husband Glen, and brother Steve Buntin and wife Barbara; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members and friends.
A celebration of her life will be held at the Elk’s Lodge, 353 S. Seguin, New Braunfels, Texas on Sunday, October 25, 2015 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm. Friends and Family are invited to sign the online guestbook at www.zoellerfunerlhm.com
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made, in Jo’s honor, to Children’s Advocacy Center of Comal County or the Salvation Army.
