JoAnn Rivera

JoAnn was born July 13, 1947 in Bayonne, New Jersey and moved to Texas with her family in 1974. She returned to her hometown of Bayonne in 1985 for 4 years before returning to Texas permanently.

JoAnn is survived by her husband, Juan Rivera: her sister, Elizabeth Santiago and husband, Tony Santiago; her 4 children: son, George Bassett, daughter, Ellen Bassett Rose, son, James Bassett and wife, Kate Bassett and daughter, Kiersten Ruby; her grandchildren, Austin Rose, Shelby Rose, Kaylah Bassett, Ethan Ruby, Devon Rose, Joseph Ruby Burrow, Liam Burrow, Emily Rose Ortiz, Edward Bassett; her step-children, Janie Rivera, Geraldo Rivera, Gabriel Rivera; her nephews, Cliff Santiago and wife, Megan Santiago, Craig Santiago, great niece, Charlize Santiago and numerous cousins.

JoAnn is preceded in death by her Grandparents, John and Anna O’Connor, Elias and Caroline Sindle; Mother Roberta O’Connor Sindle and Father, Howard Sindle.

JoAnn will be remembered for her infectious laugh, her quick wit, her intelligence and beauty, her deep sensitivity but most of all, her unconditional love and unwavering devotion to her family.

Visitation Thursday, November 12th 5pm-9pm with Rosary to be recited at 7pm. A Holy Mass will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church at 2pm. There will be no procession from funeral home. Burial will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery #2.
