Joe Allen McKee

Joe Allen McKee, Beloved Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, and Great Grandfather, passed away on May 24, 2013 in his home at the age of 70. He was born June 3, 1942 in Mexia, Texas to Ina Leah and Rayburn “Pete” McKee. He was raised in Corsicana, Texas and moved to New Braunfels in 1957.

He was a proud man and worked hard to provide for his family. He worked as an electrician at Mission Valley Mills for 20 years and then Texas Lehigh Cement Co. for 25 years. He also served in the United States Navy.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ina and Pete; sister Eugenia Newborn and husband Roy, brother James and brother in law Kenneth Shockey. He is survived by his wife Jessie; children, son Tony and wife Cindy, daughter Julie and son Harold and wife Tracy; sisters, Raylene Shockey, Sheila Wiley and husband Jackie and Beth Weber and husband Walter; sister in laws, Darlene Hughes, Patsy Platt and husband Curtis and Carolyn McKee; grandchildren, Chelcie, Jacob, Tyler, Cody, Myles, Chad, and Ryan; great grandchildren, Ashllen, Daven, and one on the way.

He loved the game of Baseball and coached it for many years as his sons grew up. He loved to go fishing with his sons and grandsons. He enjoyed the time he had playing poker with his buddies in the Freiheit Poker Club or a game of gin at The Old Ice House.

He will be forever loved and missed by his family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 AM Thursday, May 30, 2013 at Renew Church: 2240 Farm to Market 725 New Braunfels, TX 78130 with Pastor Michelle Hess officiating. Visitation will be held at the church starting at 1:00 PM and continuing until service time.
