

He was born December 16, 1928 in Inkster, Michigan to Eva (Austra) and Albert Kelly. After several years with the Merchant Marines, John served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1956. John married the “Love of His Life”, Joyce Mittendorf June 5, 1954.
Following his navel career the couple began their life together in Houston, Texas and then San Antonio, residing in New Braunfels. John was a successful Building Materials Representative, which allowed he and Joyce many exciting years of fun and travel. John was a respected member of the Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Fraternal Order of Eagles.
He is preceded in death by his parents and sister, Alberta Domako and brother, Albert Kelly, Jr.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Mittendorf Kelly, of New Braunfels; his sister, Anna Milligan of Plymouth, Michigan; nieces, Loretta Mackenroth of Brighton, Michigan, Sharon Mc Gouph of Dexter, Michigan; nephew Tom Domako of Kaluva, Michigan and many cousins of the Mittendorf family.
John and Joyce, though separated by touch will remain in spirit forever.
A Memorial service will be held Wednesday, January 4, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
