Johnnie L. Stripling

Johnnie Stripling, of New Braunfels, TX, passed away peacefully on August 7, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on March 1, 1952, in Monroe, Louisiana, Johnnie lived a full and meaningful life surrounded by the people he loved.

Johnnie was preceded in death by his father, William Stripling, his mother, Myrtle Stripling, his sister, Melba Jezioro, and his brother, Billie Stripling.

Johnnie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He married the love of his life, Dee Stripling, on January 10, 1976. Together, they shared 50 wonderful years of marriage, building a life and a family filled with love, hard work, laughter, and countless memories.

Johnnie proudly served his country in the United States Army, where he achieved the rank of Sergeant. His strength, dedication, and determination were qualities he carried throughout his life.

Johnnie and Dee loved their life together on their 30 acres, a place they built up and made their own. Their home was much more than a piece of land—it was where they created a lifetime of memories with family and friends.

They also loved to travel and enjoyed seeing the country together, taking in the sights and making memories along the way. And, of course, no trip was complete without stopping at any casinos they happened to come across.

Johnnie also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. He loved to cook, especially barbecue and gumbo, and he enjoyed spending time fishing whenever he could.

Johnnie’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his beloved wife, Dee Stripling; his sons, Hollis Stripling and his wife Marliese, and their children Ashley, Austin, Clayton, Dalton, and Emily; Ray

Stripling and his wife Holly, and their children Christine and Johnnie; Will Stripling; and Tyler Stripling and his son Johnnie. He is also survived by 15 great-grandchildren, who brought him great joy.

He is also survived by his extended family, including his nephews David Jezioro and his wife Christy, and their children Chance and son Kayce; Marissa Biggs and her husband Aubrey; Jaime Stripling and his wife Terry, and children Bridgette, Jaime, Brooklyn, and Ethan; Chris Stripling and son Michael Stripling, who is currently serving in the United States Army; and his niece, Amanda Jezioro.

Johnnie also leaves behind many beloved family members and relatives in Louisiana, who remained an important part of his life and his family story. His Louisiana family held a special place in his heart, and the memories and connections they shared with him will be cherished forever.

Among Johnnie’s most treasured friendships was his lifelong friendship with Larry White, his best friend since fifth grade, and Larry’s wife, Kathy. Their friendship lasted a lifetime and was a special part of Johnnie’s journey.

Johnnie lived a full life, surrounded by family and friends who loved him dearly. He leaves behind a lifetime of memories, stories, laughter, and love that will continue to live on through the many people whose lives he touched.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Rest peacefully, Johnnie. Your journey is over, but the love and memories you gave us will remain forever.

A Memorial Service will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on September 1, 2026, at 10:00 am.

A Committal Service with Army Honors will be held at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209, on September 1, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
