Johnny was born to Herman and Evelyn Friesenhahn on December 11, 1948 in New Braunfels, Texas.
He was raised on a farm that cultivated his strong work ethic and mischievous nature. The oldest of four, Johnny thrived on the farm, enjoying the lifestyle of hard work, caring for animals and getting together with extended family. He got into music at an early age and played many instruments, most by ear, and was part of several country western bands that performed at dances around the area. He and his brothers Leroy and Ron, were all a part of The Green Valley Travelers until 1972. Johnny felt blessed by his close relationship with each of his siblings and their families that continued to grow through the years.
While starting his career in construction, he was also starting to build a family. He married his beloved Bugs, Karen Stahl Friesenhahn, on February 10, 1973. For over 43 years, Johnny and Karen have been a true example of the sacrament of marriage and love and honoring each other. They have 3 children, Carrie (Kevin) Johnston of Georgetown, Jason (Vivian) Friesenhahn of Canyon Lake and Justin (Brittnie) Friesenhahn of New Braunfels. Johnny gave selflessly to continually provide for his family. Though busy with his own company, he never missed an anniversary, little league game, dance recital or band concert. He was established as a proud Papa in 2007 and leaves behind his most adoring fans, Kaleb, Paxten and Dillon Friesenhahn and Cole, Max, Trent and Molly Johnston, as well as his faithful and loyal companion, Schatzie.
Johnny is survived by his loving wife and best friend, Karen, children, grandchildren, mother, Evelyn, brothers, Ron Friesenhahn of New Braunfels and Leroy (Michelle) Friesenhahn of Austin and sister, Gloria (Robert) Christmas of Marion, sister-in-law, Amy (Johnny) Westerhoff of San Antonio, nephews, Chandler Friesenhahn, Matthew Westerhoff and Adam (Debbie) Westerhoff, as well as many close cousins in the Friesenhahn and Goerke families and numerous friends, clients and colleagues. He was preceded in death by his father, Herman and mother-in-law, Angeline Stahl.
