The angels of the lord came for Katherine Anne Huebinger, our beloved daughter, sister and Aunt on February 4th 2016. Kathy was born in Amarillo Texas and adopted by Lt. Col. Vincent & Clara Huebinger in 1957. Kathy was the light of their life, their first child. She was able to travel the world during her father's Air Force career. She lived in Sacramento California, Fort Worth Texas, Naha Okinawa, Langley Virginia and Harlingen Texas through her father's many assignments. She spent a great deal of her youth traveling Southeast Asia with her family during "hops", on family vacations to the Philippines, Thailand, Taiwan and Japan. During her early years she was involved in Girl Scouts and constantly making many new friends along her way. As a young girl she developed an interest in music and bowling, which she continued throughout her life. Her favorite musicians were Elvis and the Beatles. She bowled for years with friends in leagues and on family outings. After her father retired from the Air Force, she moved with her family back to Harlingen Texas, where she graduated from Harlingen High school. She continued her education at Blinn Junior College, Pan American University at Edinburg and eventually Southwest Texas State University.
Kathy was a giving person, sweet and kind to everyone she met. She volunteered most of her time to those in need. She spent a lot of her hours at St. Peter & St. Paul's Catholic Church in New Braunfels, working many days assisting in their Thrift shop. She would also help the church and their congregation in every way possible. She was involved in assisting with the elderly at Eden Home, a place that became dear to her while her Grandmother Hilda Krueger resided at the home.
Kathy loved birds and kept a parakeet called Wendi as a constant companion. She was deeply religious, accepting Christ as her savior and attending St. Peter and St. Paul's Catholic Church with her mother Clara whenever possible. Christmas was her most favorite time of the year. She adored spending time with her family, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews and playing "Santa's little elf" on Christmas Eve for the family gathering. She will be deeply missed by all, she was our little angel.
Kathy was preceded in death by her father, Lt. Col. Vincent Huebinger; grandparents, Milton and Hilda Krueger; grandparents, John and Rosalie Huebinger; and brother, Thomas G. Huebinger
