I met Kyomi at dialysis. At first we just smiled at one another in passing. Then my schedule changed and I sat by her and got to know her. I would call her Rock Star! With her uniquely fabulous outfits to her beautifully wild hair and big rock star sunglasses she reminded me of a free spirit Rock star. She was a beautiful young woman and had a kind, gentle, spirit about her..I am very sorry for your family's loss...RIP, Kyomi.......❤ Kelly

Rest easy little cousin. From your big cousin Derrick. I know that you suffered long enough but you lived your life way beyond your years and had much to teach others, by being grateful for what you do have and not worry about what you don't have. Though I didn't get spend much time with you, but what I have learned about you, I am very, very proud of the strong young lady that you have become and the many people's lives you have touched and how much you mean to them. Your work here is done now and all must apply what you have taught, both young, old and in between. Rest in peace Kyomi "FATTY" Brooks farewell.

My Best Friend, my sister, my inspiration to happiness, and strength on Earth: Kyomi Brooks, you will forever push me to be a better self of me. I am the luckiest girl to have been connected emotionally and physically with your vivacious and intelligence. Your smile, your giggles, your walk, everything that made Kyomi Brooks is forever imprinted in my memory. One of many foundest memories of you fatty was your dancing and laughing while you did. I am imagining you in heaven watching over all your loved ones, at the same time accompanied by your family members flushed with so much love; love more powerful than felt here on this planet; my serenity is knowing you're at peace. I miss you so much!!! We will pick up were we left of like we always do: I promise. Rest in peace.

Fatty, I wish I got another chance to say I love you. You always were the silly one, the one who could make everyone smile with your dances and laugh. I know we didn't get to see each other all the time as we got older, but I often thought of you. I will remember that day we spent in DC and eating brunch at Del Frisco's, and the National Mall, lol. Now, sleep peacefully and rest, no more pain or worry.
