Larry Dean DeWitt

Larry Dean DeWitt passed away Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at the age of 79 in Leander, Texas. He was born in Cistern, Texas on December 22, 1939 to Delma Dean and Eleanor DeWitt. He was the star football player at Flatonia High playing the position of quarterback and he carried a love of the game of football throughout his whole life. His favorite team was the Texas Longhorns and as a UT alum the team had a special place in his heart. He loved going to UT games at Darrell K. Royal stadium. He graduated from the University of Houston after obtaining his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy and attended the University of Texas receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration. What followed was a long and fruitful career as a pharmacist. His beloved son Duane followed in his footsteps also furthering his education and becoming a pharmacist after attending The University of Houston. Larry was also a member of the American Society of Hospital Pharmacists. He married Sandra Senette Durham on May 27, 1972 in Houston, Texas at The St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Larry lived for many years in Wimberley, Texas where he raised his family with wife Sandra and daughter Sarah Bethany DeWitt and many loving dogs and cats. His daughter, Sarah Bethany, followed in her dad's footsteps and graduated from the University of Texas where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. One of Larry's true passions in life was music with a few of his favorite artists being Elvis Presley, Pink Floyd, Roy Orbison, and Buddy Holly. He would always have a long-playing record player in the house somewhere. Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Delma Dean and Eleanor DeWitt. He is survived by his brother, James Benjamin DeWitt; son, Duane Dean DeWitt; daughter, Sarah Bethany Aparicio-DeWitt; and husband Jose Andrés Aparicio; grandson, Julian Alexander Aparicio; ex-wife and friend, Sandra Senette Dewitt; and numerous nephews. Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Texas on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from10:00 until Service time at 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Flatonia, Texas.
