

Master Sargent Lester Lee Lloyd went to join his Heavenly Father, February 12, 2017, at 84 years of age. Lester was born on February 8th 1934 to John T. and Helen M. Lloyd in Cairo, Pike County, Indiana. Lester spent his youth working hard on local farms plowing, planting, harvesting, and building grain silos.
Lester served in the United States Air force as a Military Federal Employee from 1952 to 1972. He was instrumental in designing, programming, and analyzing computer networking systems used by the armed forces throughout the world. During his time with the USAF he traveled the United States and the world, including Alaska, Thailand, Indonesia, and China. He received multitudes of certificates, awards, and commendations for his contributions. In 1969, while still working full time for the USAF, Lester was employed part time by Gebhart’s Mexican Foods as Chief Computer Programmer. In 1972, Lester Honorably Discharged as a Master Sargent with 20 years of service from the USAF and began working full-time for Gebhart’s Mexican foods for the next 20 years. After retiring a second time, he assisted people processing taxes with H & R Block.
Lester married Rennie L. Curtis on May 8, 1964, in San Antonio, Bexar County, Tx., and lived in Schertz, Texas. Their everlasting love and devotion to each other in marriage spanned 43 years. They owned Rennie’s Greenery and Florist for over 5 years providing flowers for weddings, funerals, special occasions. After the flower shop, they built a lake house and lived in Canyon Lake, Tx. Five years later they sold the lake house and traveled the States until they settled in New Braunfels, Tx.
Lester is preceded in death by his parents, John and Helen Lloyd, his wife, Rennie Lloyd; his daughter, Rennie “Ricky” Denzel; his brother, John Lloyd; his sister, Katherine Lloyd; his sister, Dorothy (Lloyd) Butler; his nephew, Charlie Butler, and niece, Gwen Butler. Lester leaves behind his daughter, Leslie Heinzmann, her husband, Carl; daughter, Carole Davis, her husband, Clay; his grandchildren Tracey, her husband Jose; Colleen, her husband Felix; Amanda, her husband Joshua; Magen, her husband Mark; Brandon, Autumn, and Clayton; his great-grandchildren Ryan, Joseph, Stacy, Jose, Jr., Amber, Felix, Jr., Willow, Elora, William, Paige, Frankie, Luke, Layla, Carter, Zachary, and Konor; his great-great grandchildren Alice, Stephen, Amya, and Klayton; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lester spread joy, happiness, love, and a shining spirit to all through his life. He treasured spending time with family and friends visiting, playing cards, watching wrestling, mysteries, and westerns. He loved to sing country songs even if he made up the words in his own country swing. He enjoyed woodworking as a hobby making lawn silhouettes, bird houses, and benches, with his wife Rennie as he would draw and cut, and she would paint.
Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, from 5 pm to 8 pm and Funeral Services on Saturday, Feb. 17, 2018, at 11 am, both at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, Tx. Burial will be a later date in March 2018, to be held at Ft. Sam Houston with full Military Honors. The family appreciates your thoughts and prayers.
