Linda Webb, gentle of heart and generous of spirit, left this world peacefully on November 15, 2025. Born to parents Clyde Northington and Mary Dee Abney Northington on October 17, 1939, in Lampasas, Texas, Linda grew up in a family that highly valued education. After graduating from Lampasas High School in 1958, Linda went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Education from Trinity University in San Antonio.
While in San Antonio, she met the love of her life, William Wayne “Bill” Webb, and they were married on December 29, 1961. This remarkable pair enjoyed over 60 years of love, laughter, family time, RV travel, and contentment together until Bill passed in May 2023. Since that time, Linda’s longtime pleasure at watching hummingbirds has expanded to include redbirds, our family’s chosen reminder of Bill’s continued presence in our hearts.
Linda and Bill raised their two children, Susan and Mike, in San Antonio while also building their own business, LANCo, a janitorial company. In addition to staying busy with family and the business, Linda volunteered at the Institute of Texan Cultures for more than 10 years and was a longtime member of the P.E.O. (Philanthropic Educational Organization) Sisterhood, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Daughters of the Republic of Texas. Linda enjoyed playing the piano, reading, and doing lovely crewel work pieces that still hang in family members’ homes. She and Bill were active members at Covenant Presbyterian Church in San Antonio and later at Bracken United Methodist Church in Bracken, Texas.
In retirement, Bill and Linda hit the road in their RV, enjoying adventures all over the country with friends (and at least one wild bear!) that they met along the way. Susan joined them for the memorable “Adventures With Bill and Linda” trip that included the wild bear encounter, and Linda loved to hear Bill and Susan tell the story to our extended family. As ever, Linda relished any chance to laugh at a good joke - or, in Bill’s case, a corny joke! Her laughter helped us all chime in laughing together.
And what a good many of us there are who are left to miss her! Though Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Bill, she is survived by her children, Susan Korn and husband Gary; Mike Webb and wife Laura; grandchildren, Travis Korn and wife Danielle; Sarah Korn Cantu and husband Casey; Rachel Korn Malette and husband Troy; Abby Webb; Aaron Bradley; and Ben Bradley; great-grandchildren, Taylor Korn, Camila Cantu, Sydney Malette, Penelope Cantu, Aubrey Malette, and Huston Korn. Other surviving family members include Linda’s sister, Carol Wright of Lampasas; niece Cindy Kemper and husband Lyle; nephew Rob Wright and wife Myra; cousins Maggie Thomas of Fort Worth; Mary Sue Hayward and husband Chris of Dallas; John Brigham and wife Jan of Axtell; and their families. A crowd of dear friends from Linda’s happy lifetime also carry fond memories of the sweetest woman many of us have ever known.
The family wishes to thank the hospice caregivers of Hope Hospice of New Braunfels, who did so much to make Linda’s last months comfortable and pleasant. Faith, Amberly, and Chaplain Tom provided dignified care and guidance. Crissie, Linda’s caregiver since August, and the dedicated staff at Rio Terra for the last two and a half years have been tireless, professional, and compassionate in their work with Linda. We are grateful to them all.
Linda’s service will be at 3 p.m. Saturday, November 22, at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels, with a burial at 2 p.m. Sunday, November 23, at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Lampasas.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Linda’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association or Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
