Lupe Luna Ruiz, was born in New Braunfels, Texas on December 11, 1944. Preceding him in death were his parents, Hilopito and Manuelita Ruiz; wife, Julia Ruiz; brother, Domingo Ruiz; sisters; Susie Lombardo, Phyllis Cardenas, and Mary De la Fuente. He is survived by brothers, Victor and Richard Ruiz; and sister, Judy Soliz.
When he was young he loved the go to the Guadalupe River to fish, swim, and hang out with his friends and brothers. In January 1962, he married the love of his life, Julia. They were married for 58 years. They had 2 daughters, Betty Lozano and Tina Gonzales. He was a loving father and husband who had strong family values.
He began his career with HEB in New Braunfels. After a few years he was promoted and moved to DelRio, Texas. He retired after 35 years with HEB. After retirement he moved back to New Braunfels to be closer to family.
He loved family trips to Las Vegas and that's where he began a love affair with buffets. Golden Corral in New Braunfels became his favorite restaurant. He also loved to BBQ at home, he enjoyed watching sports. HIs favorite teams were the Dallas Cowboys and Texas Longhorns.
In his lifetime he achieved many of his goals. He will be remembered as kind, loving and funny. He made many friendships that lasted a lifetime. He will be greatly missed.
Public Visitation will begin 5:00 PM Tuesday, June 17, 2025 at Zoeller Funeral Home with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 PM. A Committal Service will be held 10:00 Wednesday, June 18, 2025 at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park with entombment to follow.
