

Margaret B. Staudt, age 89, of New Braunfels, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2022. Margaret was born January 8, 1933 in Adkins, Texas to Paul and Elizabeth Balzen. Margaret was married on June 2, 1953, to the love of her life, Alvin H. Staudt, shortly after he returned from serving in the Korean War.
Margaret is preceded in death by her loving husband, Alvin; daughter & son-in-law, Calinda & Clyde Vickrey. She is survived by her daughter Bernie Henington of Universal City, TX; granddaughter Chelaine Vickrey and family.
Alvin & Margaret started their life of faith together at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Selma, TX; then becoming members of the Church of the Good Shepherd in Schertz; then Our Lady of Perpetual Help and finally Sts. Peter & Paul, both in New Braunfels, TX. Margaret, and her husband Alvin, spent their lives in service to others; and she served as Eucharistic Minister for OLPH in Selma, and lifetime member of Christian Mothers Society and St. Ann's Alter Society, and served as president for St Ann's for 20 years.
During this time, the family is reminded of how much the friendship and kindness of so many over the years, means to them. There are to many to mention and at this time of profound loss, the family pauses to count their blessings and offer special thanks to John & Birdie Grein, beloved Dorothy McCormick, Tony & Giny Hubertus; dear friends: Mrs. Billie Moore, Dennis & Cathy Marbach, Howard & Cathy Ackermann, Dalton & Brandy Ryan, Dr. William Reeves, Jesse Ojeda, Melissa Simmons, Jay Oliver, and the best neighbors anyone could have, Mr. & Mrs. Dale Brimmage & family.
Margaret was laid to rest on Monday, March 7th at a private service. Any donations to help pay funeral expenses would be greatly appreciated by Margaret's daughter Bernie Henington.
