Marina was a wonderful mother, loving wife, and dedicated physical therapist who brought much love and joy to the lives of her wide circle of family, friends and patients. Her true passion, which she found later in life, was attending to the special needs’ students and families within the Mesquite Independent School District.
She was the last of 5 kids. Having 4 brothers taught her life skills she always put to good use. She always approached life’s surprises with a kind, easy manner, yet she never would let you or herself lose focus. She was the first woman in her family to obtain a college degree.
She will be remembered for her compassion, sense of humor, and her strong commitment to family. Marina was an avid jogger, loved to exercise, especially taking long walks in her neighborhood where everyone knew her.
Marina endured a long illness with grace and dignity showing more concern for her family than herself. The motivating force in her life was love of family, especially her steadfast love for her husband, Roy Sanderson.
Marina is survived by her husband - Roy Sanderson; son, Ben Hall; daughter, Callahan Hall; 3 brothers - Brian, Mike and Dan Gately and their spouses - Louisa, Olga, and Renee’ Gately. Marina is also survived by her nephews - Andrew, Nathan, and Kevin Gately; and her niece, Laura Gately; plus her grand-niece Lillie Cline; and her grand-nephew Landry Cline.
