Melvin (Buddy) Waxler was born to parents Max and Ottilia Waxler on 11/25/1935 in Seguin, Texas, he passed away at home in New Braunfels, TX on 9/30/26 at the age of 90. He leaves a legacy of love, loyalty and strength that will echo in the hearts of all who knew him.
Melvin worked at Mission Valley Mills from the age of 16 until he retired in 2000 at the age of 65. He passed along to his sons, grandsons, and great grandsons the importance of hard work ethic.
Melvin loved the outdoors, he was an avid deer hunter and fisherman which he passed that love down to his sons, grandsons, and great grandsons.
Melvin is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 71 years Jo Ann Waxler, his son Ronnie Waxler (Tonya), Grandsons Troy Waxler (Sherri) and Travis Waxler (Rachelle), and 7 Great grandsons and 1 Great Granddaughter. He is also survived by three sisters Thelka Waxler Harborth, Sylvia Waxler Engelke, and Vivian Waxler Hesskew. As well as many nieces and nephews.
Melvin is preceded in death by his Son Todd Waxler, Great Grandson Weston Kolt Waxler, Parents Max and Ottilia Waxler, Sisters, Elsa Waxler McLeod, Linda Waxler Bielstein, Velma Waxler Collier, Lillian Waxler Doege, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law Virgil and Lucille McCoy.
Pall Bearers are his seven great grandsons, Dalton Waxler, JT Glover, Noah Waxler, Jeremiah Waxler, Brad Waxler, Caleb Vela and Trenton Longoria.

Public Viewing & Visitation will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on October 8, 2026, from 11:30 am to 12:00 pm, followed by the Funeral Service at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on October 8, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm.
Burial Service will take place at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park, 2951 TX Hwy 46, New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on October 8, 2026, beginning at 1:30 pm.
