Myrna Winans was born August 29, 1944 in Jeanerette, Louisiana to Horton & Regina Prevost. Myrna was the eldest sibling of 5 children. Siblings: Myra Blankenship, Myrtis Abrego, Fulton Prevost, Melissa Kiker.
Myrna will be affectionately remembered as a loving caregiver, dedicated friend, and loving spouse. She was very devoted in her spiritual life, attending church regularly, praying, and teaching her children about her relationship with God and Jesus Christ.
She was a loving mother, big sister, and Nana to her grandchildren. Myrna was a creative and free spirit with the soul of an artist who was known to say what was on her mind. She was always pursuing one hobby or another--creating things--artistic cakes, quilts and she loved music, drawings and cartoons, painting, journaling, writing poetry and prayers, making ceramics, painting eggs, trying out different recipes, growing different varieties of roses, making her own breads. She was the perfect home maker. A collector of many things, some of her favorites were: dolls, bells, clowns, crosses, paintings of trees, glass figurines, Santa Clauses just to name a few.
She was loved by all of her children’s friends. She was considered Mom to many, a great listener & quick to give some motherly advice or a hot cooked meal.
She enjoyed helping others in need, loved volunteer work especially with seniors who were unable to care for themselves.
Myrna is survived by her husband of 56 years, Larry Ray Winans, daughter Julie Robillard & husband Michael, granddaughter Willow Gilson and husband Geoff, Great granddaughter Piper, grandson Aaron Robillard and wife Amber. Son Wayne Winans and wife Anne, and son John Winans.
Myrna was preceded in death by her parents, and younger sister Myra Blankenship.
She will be well-missed.
