

Myrtle Wetz Bueche lived a fulfilling 95 years. She was born on August 21st, 1918 in Bracken, Texas and passed away March 23rd, 2014 in New Braunfels. She was baptized at Bracken Methodist Church on November 3rd, 1918 and later confirmed there on September 6th, 1931. On December 10th, 1935 she married Werner Bueche and they owned Western Auto and later Bueche Furniture. Together, they had two daughters, Jeanette Brothers and Leita Mae Haas. Myrtle was very active within the community. She was the last remaining charter member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in New Braunfels. She was a Senior Director for the Comal County Fair Association. Every year from 1969 through 2013 she could be found cooking in the Eagles booth or working in the baking department where she served as chairman for many years. Myrtle attended Wurstfest every year since its start in 1961 where she volunteered her time for several organizations. She enjoyed the music of Myron Floren and Alex Meixner who dedicated a song and recognized her at his last show. Starting as a family team for Bueche Furniture, she enjoyed many years bowling at Freiheit Bowling Club. And even at the age of 95, she spent several nights a week playing cards and bingo with friends.
Myrtle was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Emma Wetz, her brother Norvin Wetz, Werner Bueche, her daughter Jeanette Brothers, her granddaughter Gina Haas and her dear friend John Cannon.
She is survived by her daughter Leita Mae Haas and her husband Dennis, her grandson Rusty Brothers and his wife Rebecca, her granddaughter Crystal Lopez and her husband Carlos, three great grandchildren Zephyr, Nash and Rosalie Lopez and nephew Bill Wetz and his wife Monica and three great nieces Taylor, Emma and Tilley Wetz.
Our family would like to thank the staff of Kirkwood and CIMA Hospice for the excellent care they gave Myrtle during her final weeks.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2014 at Zoeller Funeral Home from 6 to 8 pm. Funeral services will also be at Zoeller Funeral Home on Friday, March 28th at 2 pm with interment to follow at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park.
