Our beloved Nettie Cardenas passed away peacefully in her home on Friday, July 5, 2024, at the age of 94, with her family by her side. A lifelong resident of New Braunfels, Texas, Nettie made an incredible impact on everyone she met.
Nettie married her husband Frank Cardenas at Holy Family Church in 1959 and brought two boys into the world, Mario and Michael, in the years that followed. She loved the Dallas Cowboys, and on any given Sunday you could hear her cheering on her team. Most of all, Nettie loved God. Her favorite thing to tell everyone was to put their trust in God, no matter the circumstances, and to be grateful for all things. Her family takes comfort knowing she is sitting at the table with her Heavenly Father.
She truly has been her family's rock and lived every moment of her life with immeasurable Godly faith and love and compassion that knew no bounds! She taught us all to dance through life by trusting in God through all things. Some of Nettie’s greatest loves were her grandchildren, Lauren and Mario Jr, and her great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Charlie. In true Momo fashion, a day didn’t pass without her asking God to bless them and keep them safe.
She is survived by her son, Michael Cardenas and wife Cate of New Braunfels; granddaughter, Lauren Trudelle and husband Dallas of Benton, Arkansas; grandson, Mario Cardenas, Jr. and his mother, Laura Medina; great-grandson, Gabriel Trudelle and great-granddaughter, Charlie Trudelle; brothers, Daniel Cantu and Amador Cantu. Numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Francisco "Frank" Cardenas; son Mario Cardenas, Sr.; Sisters, Maria Villarreal, and Delia Villanueva; brother, Jesus Guadalupe Cantu; sister, Esther Garza; brother, Ramon Cantu, and sister, Helen Flores.
