

Nick loved fishing, playing games, and gardening. Above all, he loved his family and was proud of all their accomplishments. He met Earline, his wife of 56 years, while working on offshore oil rigs. Nick and Earline were married on September 2, 1969, in Rockport, Texas, and made their first home in DeQuincy, Louisiana.
Nick spent many years living in the Texas Hill Country managing cattle ranches. He and Earline shared four children: Jennifer Montalvo (Raphael Montalvo), Kelli Stuart (Fred Brown), Jason Stuart (Nicole Stuart), and Justin Stuart (Vickie Stuart); seven grandchildren: Holley Hood, Lance Hood, Heather Hood Jones, Meredith Stuart, Reese Stuart, Riley Stuart, and Lena Stuart; and three great-grandchildren: Skieh Jones, Lance “Trey” Hood, and Dean Day.
Nick was preceded in death by his mother, Charlene “Wilma” Stuart; his father, Victor Lee Stuart; his brother, Victor “Butch” Lee Stuart Jr.; and his sister, Rebecca Stuart.
A funeral service will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa St., New Braunfels, Texas 78130, on June 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a light reception at the funeral home from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. A private graveside service with Military Honors will take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery at a later date.
