

Pamela Ann Hartwick passed away August 12, 2017 in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 74. She was born September 17, 1942 in Swindon, Wiltshire, England to Gwendoline Margaret Goddard. Gwendoline married Henry Borgfeld in 1945. Pamela and her family moved to New Braunfels when she was three years old. She graduated from Canyon High School in May of 1961. Pamela married Nelson H. Hartwick on December 8, 1962. They had three children; David, Richard, and Wanda. Nelson had two children from previous marriage that he and Pamela raised together. In 1976, Pamela went to nursing school, graduating in October 1977. She went on to work at McKenna Hospital for nearly five years and for a doctor for almost six years. Pamela went back to school in 1987 to become a beautician. In 1992, she went back to nursing at McKenna Memorial Hospital. In February 1997, a back injury led to her retirement from nursing. She enjoyed camping with the Canyon Sams Chapter of Good Sams Club, going to church at Friedens Church of Christ in Geronimo, helping at church teaching craft to the young children and vacation bible school. She enjoyed all kinds of crafts and made gifts for many people who she respected and loved.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Nelson Hartwick and her first born son David. She is survived by sons, Alfred Carl (Beverly), Kerry Wayne (Vicki), and Richard Ray (Kerri); daughter, Wanda Kay (Duane); grandchildren, Jessica, Christine, Curtis, Krystel, Nicole, Megan, Kirsten, Erin, Rebecca, and Duane II; and greatgrandchildren, Kenneth, Journie, Alexander, Evan, Justice, Derrick, Carson, Emily, Joey, Ethan, Audrey, Shawn, and Bentley.
A Public Visitation will take place from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 19 at Friedens United Church of Christ, with burial to follow at Lone Oak Cemetery. Following the burial, there will be a reception at Friedens United Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Friedens United Church of Christ in Geronimo, Texas for the Sunday School playground.
