

Patricia Ann West, age 91, passed on to our Lord surrounded by loved ones on April 29th, 2026. Patricia was born on July 15th,1934 in Coupland, Texas to Henry and Edna Keil. She grew up in this small country town running around the town barefoot, visiting her many relatives’ homes and businesses. The family later moved to Houston’s Kashmere Gardens community where she graduated from high school. She then worked at the Prudential Insurance Company. Soon thereafter she met her future husband Ray West at a serviceman’s social mixer. He was an Air Force pilot stationed at Ellington Air Force Base. They were married on June 8, 1957. There begin the life of a military family moving to various bases until his military discharge and return to Houston. Upon his retirement they moved to New Braunfels, Texas where they resided together beloved neighbors of the community and faithful members of Cross Lutheran Church for 26 years until his passing in 2025.
Pat always cherished and guided her children at home and in places far away. She took great comfort in her immaculate home and passed on habits on orderliness and great hospitality to the family. A fabulous cook, she enjoyed sharing her many family dishes such as her pink lemonade pie. At church she and Ray participated in many activities supporting the dear members and families. They were both engaged in service to the SOS Food Bank and Pat enjoyed serving in the Dorcas Guild and other women’s fellowship groups. If members needed transportation to church or the doctors, they were always available. During their retirement they relished the opportunity to travel around the country to visit their children and grandchildren sharing birthdays, graduations, reunions, and other family adventures.
A memorial service will be held remembering Pat’s life embracing her beloved Savior Jesus Christ at Cross Lutheran Church in New Braunfels at 10:00 am Monday May 18th, 2026. A time of visitation will precede the service at 9:30 am. A reception and gathering will follow at the church from 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. Afterwords the service of committal alongside her husband will take place at 1:30 pm at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio.
Pat was preceded in death by her husband Ray West, father Henry Keil, her mother Edna Keil, her brother Eugene Keil, and sister-in-law Melva Keil. She is survived by her son Jeffery West, daughter Jenise Alexander and husband Tom, daughter Debra Moore, son David West and wife Lesli, daughter Sandra Olmo, 14 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren, and other dear family and friends.
