Patsy was born in Kerrville, Texas on February 23, 1930, the only child of Clarence Thomas Lawson and Lucia Ann (Stanley) Lawson. Her family moved to San Antonio and she graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1947 and attended San Antonio Junior College. She married Tilman (“T.I.”) Long, Jr. on June 4, 1949. They had been married for 60 years at his passing in 2009. She helped him in his business, “T.I. Long TV Service,” for the better part of 40 years. They were members of Baptist Temple, where she taught Sunday School. She was always involved in her daughters’ school activities. Once their daughters were grown, they moved to “The River” on Lake Placed in Seguin. Their home there produced so many lifelong cherished memories for our family. They became members and were involved at First Baptist Church Seguin.
After 2009, mama was cared for by wonderful caregivers as she began a slow decline due to dementia. Our family is eternally grateful to Sheila Medina, Maria Gomez and Chris Camareno for their love and care. The last three years, she lived at Eden Hill Communities and had more wonderful people surrounding her, including the staff and volunteers from Hope Hospice. Thank you to you all.
Services include a visitation beginning at 1:30pm on Sunday, April 29,2018 at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels. A memorial service will follow at 2:00pm. A family graveside will be held at Mission Burial South, San Antonio. Memorials may be made to Hope Hospice, Eden Hill Communities or the charity of one’s choosing.
