Pauline Evelyn Johnson

Surrounded with Family, Pauline Evelyn Johnson (Polly and/or Gigi), 92 years old, of New Braunfels, Texas, passed away on August 24, 2017 in Austin, Texas.

Memorial services will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home on Tuesday, August 29, 2017 at 2:00 pm. The Service will be officiated by Reverend Scott Nowak of New Braunfels Presbyterian Church. The burial will be held at Houston Memorial Cemetery with a date to be determined.

Polly was born in Battle Creek, Michigan to Lawrence Baker and Ruth Thompson on February 13, 1925. She met her first love in Battle Creek and married Ronald Alfred Johnson on December 10, 1943, where they began a whirlwind military life having 3 children Ronald Alfred Johnson, Jr, Rodney Lawrence Johnson and Pamela Ann Johnson. They settled after 20 years of traveling to different states and countries when they settled in Lincoln, Nebraska in 1961. It was here where Polly went back to school to earn her high school diploma and attended the University of Nebraska studying accounting and began work as a bookkeeper. When Ronald retired in 1980 they moved the New Braunfels, Texas. She was involved in Elks, Eagles, The American Legion, DAR, DAC, and Red Hat Society. She enjoyed Bingo, Bunko, Bridge, Bible study, Hula, Beauty, and Ballroom Dancing. She received Eagles Mother of the Year.

If you were to ask Polly what was the most important part of life, she would say family. Ronald and Polly had three children who adored her, Ronald Alfred Jr. and wife Joanne, Rodney Lawrence and wife Sharyn and Pamela Ann and husband Tom and with them the family extended to grandchildren Lisa Marie husband Jason and Joseph James, and Kimberly Ann and Katherine Jean and husband James. Great grandchildren Trevor Daniel, Sydney Alexandra, Erika Juneann, Gabrielle Millay, Jude Lawrence and Mackenzie Jean. Polly, as the matriarch of the family kept the family close and loved.

Polly, with the marriage to Norris, was able to increase her family to include his children James Bruce and wife Lynn and Nancy Carol and husband David and their children and grandchildren as well. She loved and adored them as her own.

Polly is preceded in death by her Son, Rodney Lawrence Johnson, April 4, 1987; her first love Ronald Alfred Johnson, February 13, 2003; and her second love Norris Flodine, December 6, 2014.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to so many people. We would like to include Hospice Austin for their support and guidance, Querencia at Barton Creek for their dedication and love, Daniel Wyman for his musical gifts, Analicia Alvarez for the inspiration and blessing, Reverend Scott Nowack, for nourishment and support we would love to thank Debbi Chesney, Cara Deberardine, The Stabile Family, and The Madoff Family. Our family feels truly blessed for our community.
