Peggy Ann Klein passed peacefully from this earth into her Lord and Savior’s arms on January 27, 2013 at the age of 78. She was born on March 13, 1934 to her parents the late Harley and Frances Glasscock Higdon in San Antonio, TX. Peggy graduated from Thomas A. Edison High School. She raised her only daughter, Judy Klein Castrejana, as a divorced single parent. For 28 years she served as a civil service employee in the San Antonio Air Logistics Center; first as a clerk typist and later as a Test Squadron Administrative Assistant. After “Gran” retired from Kelly AFB she helped care for her grandchildren, Jessica and Matthew Castrejana. After her family, the other loves in her life were beautiful flowers, plants, home improvement projects, crafts, the SPURS and her pet, Georgie. Peggy will be remembered for her sharp sense of humor and sarcastic wit, which allowed her and those around her to have fun in any situation. The pain of our loss is tempered by the joy that she has been set free of her earthly body and we will see her again in heaven.
She is preceded in death by Sister Mary Frances Higdon Phillips and her husband Delmar Phillips, Brother Melvin Higdon, and nephews Larry Poynter and Paul Phillips. Survivors include Sister Billie Higdon Poynter, nieces Paula Poynter Proud, Janet Phillips Wright, Cindy Haynes, and Linda Poynter, nephews David Phillips and Jimmy Poynter. Our family wishes to express our heartfelt appreciation to HOPE Hospice, especially Sandy Willingham and staff at Autumn Winds, especially our beloved Yvonne, Jeanette, Nicki, Jennifer, Kyle and Andie for their loving care of Peggy.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday , February 2nd at Comal Cemetery (301 Peace Ave) in New Braunfels TX.
