

He was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin Martin Sr. and Elenora T. Syring Preiss, brother Ralph Andrew Preiss and sister-in-law Barbara Jean Preiss. He is survived by his wife Cynthia (Reinhard) Preiss; son, Mathew W. Preiss; daughter, Kimberlie Ballard; son-in-law Randy Ballard; grandchildren, Dillin Preiss, Tanner Ballard, and Taylor Preiss.
He is also survived by his brother, Edwin M. Preiss Jr., sister Caroline Clepper and husband Wes,
sister-in-law Darline Preiss, brother Weldon Preiss and wife Karon, brother Robert L. Preiss and Denise, sister Annetta Boos and husband Robert, sister-in-law Sally Wesolick and husband Bill, sister-in-law Dana Murray and husband John and was the loving uncle to 18 nieces and nephews and 31 great nieces and nephews. He is lastly survived by extended family and a lifetime of dear friends.
Lester proudly served our country for six years in the Texas National Guard Reserves before settling to start his family that now remember him fondly as a, “jack-of-all-trades,” a man who could do anything. He was a hard-working man who chose to enjoy a life of hunting, sausage making, bowling and spending time with family and close friends.
Visitation will be on Monday, October 7, 2013 from 5:00 p. m. to 9:00 p. m. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p. m. at Zoeller Funeral Home, 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, Texas 78130. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, October 8, 2013 at 10:00 a. m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 386 Castell Avenue, New Braunfels, Texas 78130.
