Along with my Mom and Dad, we met Ray when he was probably 13. Mother and her sister had bought the "Brashler House" across the street from the Timmermann family. Ray and my Mom hit it off right away and he helped her with all sorts of projects needed to make this mid-1800's house livable. Ray was a hard worker and very strong. I could hardly believe the big rocks he was able to move This house had an indoor well. One day we opened it up and inside was a very big rattlesnake. It surprised us all but Ray was up to the task of relocating it. He got a broom and took care of that snake. Like his Dad, he worked hard and partied hard. He had a generous heart and I will never forget him. If his Mom, Betty, reads this memory, I hope she will get in touch. I had to sell the house and after that it was too hard to come back for visits. My deepest sympathy to the whole family for this sad loss of a really good guy!
