Rebekah Sue Maggart

Rebekah (Becky) Sue Maggart was born in Wayne, Nebraska on December 28, 1976 to Thomas and Elise Maggart and baptized at Grace Lutheran Church in Wayne, Nebraska by her father, Reverend Tom Maggart. She went to elementary school in Early, Texas and was confirmed as a communing member of the Lutheran Church – Missouri Synod on March 24, 1991. She graduated from B. F. Terry high school in Rosenberg, Texas in 1995 and graduated from the University of Texas at Austin in 2004 with a bachelor’s degree in government.

She passed as the result of a tragic automobile accident on October 17, 2015 while driving with her beloved dog Porter to the park. She leaves behind a sister, Deborah Dawn Edattel and her husband Paul and their two children, Isaac and Justin of Falls Church, Virginia; her mother, Elise Katherine Maggart of Sugar Land, Texas; and her father, Thomas Duane Maggart and his wife Pegi S. Maggart of New Braunfels, Texas. Becky was a generous, delightful and free-spirited daughter, sister and friend. She was a kind and doting aunt to her two cherished nephews. At the time of her passing, she lived in Stevenson, Washington. She loved the Texas Hill Country and hiking and camping, especially in the deserts of West Texas and the Pacific Northwest. She will be dearly missed and remain in our hearts forever.

Flowers can be sent to Zoeller Funeral Home at 615 Landa St, New Braunfels, TX 78130 through the morning of Friday, October 23, 2015. Donations can be made in her honor to Cane Corso Rescue, Inc. via www.canecorsorescue.org.

A public visitation will be held Friday, October 23rd from 5-7 p.m. at Zoeller Funeral Home at 615 Landa Street, New Braunfels, TX 78130. There will be a prayer service at 5:30 p.m.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, October 24th at 10 a.m. at Cross Lutheran Church, 2171 E Common Street, New Braunfels, TX.
