

Born 7-2-31 to Charles and Betty Mayer.
Served in the USAF from February 1952 to January 1956. He was stationed in England and married on 8-20-1955 to Geraldine Mayer in London. He was totally devoted to his wife and never recovered from her death in 2013.
Graduated from TCU and remained a loyal Horned frog his entire life.
Worked as an executive at Rodeway Express for over 40 years so that he and his wife could afford to retire comfortably at their Lake McQueeny Lakehouse. He loved to entertain at home and enjoyed driving around Lake McQueeny in his boat. He also enjoyed hanging out at the Lake Breeze Ski Lodge, where he was a member for many years.
He was proud of his German heritage and loved living in New Braunfels and going to Wurstfest and hanging out at Gruene Hall.
He was very patriotic.
He loved to sit outside, to listen to the birds and to watch the boats go by.
He loved all of his grandchildren but had a special relationship with Kara, who called him every day. He also very much loved his great grandchildren.
He also loved his little dog, Bella.
He was always a big fan of the "Rat Pack", especially Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra. In later years, he became a big fan of Willie Nelson and Jimmy Buffett.
He is survived by his brother Ted Mayer of California, son and daughter in law, Chuck and Darla Mayer of Corpus Christi, his son Phil Mayer of Lago Vista and his daughter in law, Gail Mayer of Lago Vista. Also by four grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Services will be held on 11-28 at 10:30am at First United Methodist Church in New Braunfels.
