Robert Dewey Quent

Bob, an only child, was born to Herman & Nancy (Ackerman) Quent November 5, 1930 in Boonton, New Jersey. He joined the US Army and served as a Sergeant in Korea, during the Korean conflict. Robert married Janice Dianne Kriewald in New Braunfels on November 24, 1962.

Bob was active in the community. He enjoyed working outdoors as a heavy equipment operator. He also enjoyed watching and participating in numerous sports. Bob played professional baseball in the New York Yankees organization. He was active in New Braunfels Little League, serving as a Coach, President of New Braunfels American Little League and Little League District Coordinator. Bob was Past Commander of New Braunfels VFW Post 7110 for numerous terms and was recently active in the Schertz VFW Post 8315.

Bob is survived by his wife Janice of 51 years, their son Dwayne and wife Tana, daughter Dawn Martin and husband James. He was also the proud grandfather to Derek Quent and wife Missy, Cody Quent and Kourtney Martin.

Visitation will be held Friday, February 28, 2014 from 5pm-8pm at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2014 at 10am with burial following at Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park 2915 Texas Hwy 46 New Braunfels. Arrangements under the direction of Zoeller Funeral Home, New Braunfels, TX.
