Rodolfo was born on November 9, 1931, to Epifanio Martinez, Sr. and Angelita Esquivel Martinez. He married the love of his life on January 4, 1961, and was blessed with two sons. Rodolfo was a good husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, a man of faith and devout Catholic. He was a member of the Holy Names Society, Union Funebre De Padres Familiares, Cruciestas, and the Guadalapanos at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church for many years. "Pio" worked in various jobs throughout his life, including Krueger Motors, Servtex, Landa Golf Course, and Iselin Mill where he retired in 1993. Besides his full-time job, he would go do yardwork to earn extra money since he enjoyed it. He also volunteered cleaning and maintaining the yard at the Saints Peter and Paul Cemetery. Rodolfo had a great sense of humor and liked to make people laugh. He enjoyed playing Bingo, BBQing, drinking a few cold ones, and spending time with his family and friends. He will be greatly missed.
Rodolfo is survived by his wife of 63 years, Josefa O. Martinez; his son Enrique Martinez, Sr. (wife Alma) of New Braunfels, Texas; and his son Samuel O. Martinez (wife Rachel) of New Braunfels, Texas; his sister Armanda M. Trejo, his sister Lupe Valdez (husband Juan) and his brother-in-law Joe Morales; his grandchild Enrique Martinez Jr., his grandchild Andrew Marcos Martinez, his grandchild Daniela Maree Martinez and his great grandchild Carly-Rose Marie Martinez, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Lina Rios, Dolores Munoz, and Angelita Morales; and three brothers, Epifanio Martinez, Jr., Arnulfo Martinez, Sr., and Manuel Martinez.
The family will receive visitors at Zoeller Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 2, 2024, from 5:00 to 9:00 pm, a Rosary will be recited at 7:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church at 10:00 am. Entombment will follow at Saints Peter and Paul Mausoleum.
