

ROMAN FROBOESE was born May 2, 1925 to Wilhelm “Willie” and Alma Froboese in his parents' home. He went to be with the Lord on December 22 at the age of 86. He was a lifetime farmer enjoying the outdoors and independence of being his own boss. He retired after 50 years of feeding the nation’s hungry. He was baptized on August 2, 1925, First Protestant United Church of Christ, New Braunfels TX. His sponsors were Dan Zuercher, Anton “Tony” Haecker and Erna (Schaefer) Kluck. Roman married his first and only sweetheart, Elanora Biesenbach on July 21, 1948 at First Protestant Church, New Braunfels, TX. They were united in marriage by Rev. Edwin Berger. Roman loved his job and continued to farm as a partner with his wife until they retired in May, 2001. The joy of his life was his family. Hobbies included tinkering with tractor repair and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife Elanora and infant daughter Marilyn.
He is survived by four children: Lillian “Lil” Metzger & husband Larry; Doris Stacy & husband Jack; Norman Froboese and Charlene Smoot & husband, Steve. Roman has six Grandchildren, Timothy Metzger & wife Laurie, Cheryl Ferreira de Oliveira and husband Guilherme , Diane Crabtree & husband Michael, Shayna Rios & husband Robert, Amanda Kruciak & husband Brandon and Amber Smoot. He has six Great Grandchildren, Ella Crabtree, Bryce Metzger, Benjamin Crabtree, Willow Kruciak, Ryder Rios and Riley Metzger. He is also survived by one brother, Leroy Froboese and wife Nellene and Brother-in-Law, Charlie Biesenbach & wife Elsie Lee. Roman was pre-deceased by a brother Eugene Froboese and sister Lola Preiss.
Visitation will be from 5-8:00 pm Wednesday December 28, 2011. Funeral services will be held at First Protestant Church in New Braunfels on Thursday, December 29, 2001 at 2:00 pm. Burial will follow in Guadalupe Valley Memorial Park at a date and time to be announced.
