Rosa Garcia Puente

Rosa was born in Lamesa, Tx on March 16th, 1941 and went to be with our Lord on March 27th, 2021 at 80 years of age.

Rosa was preceded in death by her son Ricky (Henry) Garcia Puente. Her parents Raymond and Maria Garcia, brothers Audon, Delfredo and Einnes Garcia.

She is survived by her daughters Yolanda Garza (Fred) from New Braunfels, and Sylvia Hernandez (Joe) from Kyle, and daughter in law Cynthia Puente from Austin. Brothers: Albert Garcia from Midland, Alfred Garcia from San Angelo, Raymond and Rudy Garcia from Lamesa. Sisters: Gloria Tejeda and Lupe Garcia from Lamesa, Lilly Hernandez and Delia Gonzales from Lubbock and Yolanda Hernandez from Midland. Rosa had six grandchildren: Ashley Puente and Summer Puente from Austin. Jason Garza (Michelle) from San Antonio, Jeremy Garza (Katie) from Lewisville, Brandon Hernandez (Danielle) from Buda, Marcus Hernandez from Austin and the joy of her life, her great-grandchild Jayce Rodriguez of Austin.

Rosa loved her life with her family, she was first Blessed with our angel Ashley, our special child, she is and always has been “Grandma’s baby girl!” She adored her great-grandson Jayce whom she called “Our Precious Gift”. He was her precious little boy. And she loved to hear him say “I love you great-grandma" it put a huge smile on her face. She was extremely proud of all of her kids and their accomplishments and she was even more proud of her grand-children’s accomplishments. Rosa loved her family, grandmother, mother, father, brothers and sisters. She always said she was Blessed with the love of family. “We may have been poor, but we were happy!”

She wrote “I consider myself a well-traveled person, but I would still like to see more! Among her travels were places like Korea, Alaska, Hawaii, Cancun, Bahamas. Canada, Italy where she saw the Pope and was among the crowd he Blessed. She visited Spain and France where she went to the “Sanctuaries Notre-Dame de Lourdes”, she bathed in the holy water and walked under the Grotto of the Virgin Mary. She saw most of the lower 48 states and many other treasured vacations. Rosa loved to be adventurous, she went Sky Diving at 71 years of age and had hoped to do it again at 80. She loved when she put her feet in the Mediterranean Sea in France, it was one of the biggest smiles on her face we had seen. Rosa’s other past-times at home were quilting, reading, sewing, crocheting and her family’s reunions and get togethers.

WE WILL MISS YOU MOM, REST IN PEACE AND HUG YOUR SON, WHOM YOU HAVE MISSED SO MUCH!
