Roy and Evelyn Buffington

Roy Leslie Buffington of New Braunfels passed away Friday, September 3, 2010 at the age of 87. He was born May 20, 1923 in Cristman, Texas to LeRoy and Ila Fay Buffington. Mr. Buffington graduated from Southwest Texas State University with a master’s degree and was a retired Ag Professor. He was active for many years with the Lions Club in San Marcos and was a past president. Mr. Buffington started Young Famers of America in Gonzales which grew into a state wide organization.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Darrell and Mary Buffington, La Roy and Marilyn Buffington; grandsons, Darrell Buffington Jr. and his wife Lisa, Bryan Buffington; granddaughter, Dr. Leslie Jo Greebon and her husband Trent; great grandchildren, Audrey Buffington and Luke Greebon. Preceding him in death was his parents, wife Evelyn Nelson Buffington and a grandson Ryan Buffington.

Memorial services celebrating Roy and Evelyn’s life will be Friday, September 17, 2010 at 2 PM at Zoeller Funeral Home. Those wishing to make memorial contributions may make them to Hope Hospice of New Braunfels.
