

On October 10, 2013, Ruth Ann Bowes Hoch went home to be with the Lord. Ann, daughter of Charles F. Bowes and Dorothy Guzzardo Bowes, was born on November 3, 1944, in San Antonio, Texas. She was a graduate of San Marcos High School and Southwest Texas State University.
During her lifetime Ann was a CPA and business owner in San Marcos, Corpus Christi, and New Braunfels. At the time of her death, Ann was a partner in Dream Tree Water Company and an active member of the Native Plant Society. In the early 1970's Ann had the distinction of serving as the first elected Republican official in Hays County in over 100 years.
Ann is survived by her son Larry Harold Hoch, daughter Lailani Sue Hoch DeHart and husband Rick, grandchildren BrieAnna and Kieley DeHart, Larry H. Hoch, Jr. and wife Nicole, and great grandchild Jordan. She is also survived by siblings Martha Maley and husband Joe, Tim Bowes and wife Elena, Joy Cave, Lois Shumate and husband Charles, Candace Mathes and husband Rich, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Believing in the Lord Jesus Christ as her Savior, Ann's life reflected her faith through her life, especially in her honesty and integrity in both her business dealings and her personal relationships. She served and worshiped with the Berean Bible Church of New Braunfels.
A celebration of Ann's life will be held Monday, October 14th at 11:30 a.m., at Landa Park Pavilion Number 16, New Braunfels, Texas.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the charity of one’s choice.
