Stella "Jane" Chappell

Jane was born on February 18, 1948 at the Pascal Ranch, in Comal County, Texas, to Frank Wilson Taylor, Sr. and Maggie Stella (Norton) Taylor. She attended Sherwood Elementary School and graduated from Canyon High School in 1966. On November 28 , 1969 she married the love of her life, Frederick “Fred” Alexander Chappell. Together they built a beautiful life and began their family in 1971. Jane and Fred started and operated a successful material handling company for many years, working side by side with dedication and perseverance.

Jane was a woman marked by compassion, generosity, and quiet strength. She always welcomed everyone with open arms and never turned away those in need. She loved cooking for others and carried countless recipes in her head, never needing a cookbook. Jane found great joy in God’s creation and spent most of her time tending to the wildlife that surrounded her home. She was full of wisdom and remained true to her values.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Frank Taylor, Jr.; her sisters Patty Boettcher and Louise Krause; and her beloved husband Fred. Jane is survived by her loving daughters, Serena Sue Voges and husband Tim of New Braunfels and Melanie Leah Bass and husband Frank of New Braunfels; her grandchildren Logan Taylor Voges and wife Matosha, Hank Walter Voges and wife Emily, Jana Lee Self and husband Remington, Bailey Nichole Stallings and husband Zach, and Blake Evan Bass; and her great grandchildren Huxley Alexander Voges, Ember Jane Voges, Kennedy Jane Voges, Hallie Anne Voges and Elouise Anne Stallings all of whom were a constant source of joy and pride in her life.

A funeral service will be held at Zoeller Funeral Home in New Braunfels on Tuesday January 6, 2026 at 10:30 am, with graveside services immediately following at Hill Country Memorial Gardens. Gathering will be held at the Krause tank following services.
