Ulla "Trudy" Gertrude Rabe

Ulla Gertrude “Trudy” Kelley Rabe passed peacefully away August 19, 2024 at her home in New Braunfels, Texas at the age of 96. She was born in Du Quoin, Illinois January 16, 1928. She married “Hank” Henry W. Rabe in 1948 in Pinckneyville, Illinois.

Whether a library or museum, polling station or thrift store, projects big or small, Trudy was a reliable volunteer. Her favorite things were family gatherings and celebrating Christmas.

Hank preceded her in death in 2010. She was also preceded by her parents, Dewey and Chloe Kelley, and two sisters, Hellen Kelley and Ella Kelley, all from Du Quoin, Illinois. She is survived by two sons, Doug and wife Marian Rabe, and Rick Rabe and wife Linda Dziga of New Braunfels. Also, grandchildren, Catherine Rabe in Houston, Mathew Rabe in Abilene and Rachel Dziga in California and great granddaughter Alyssa Booth in Wisconsin.
