I married Darcy, the youngest daughter of Wallace and Evaleen.  Wallace was my father-in-law.  My dad passed away when Zachary was a little more than one year old.  After that, you could just drop the words “in-law” from my relationship with Wallace or as we affectionately called him, Opie.
He taught me how to hunt.  I remember one time he dropped me off in blind before daylight on opening morning of deer season and when he came back to pick me up in his Jeep he said, “did you get one” and I said “no I got two”.  He looked at me puzzled and said “what!”.  I said, “I killed two eight points”, and he laughed and said “well guess you are done for the season!”  All I was worried about was what are my brothers-in-law were going to think limiting out on the first day.
We had some good road trips too.  A couple times we went on motorhome outings, one time in Opie’s motorhome on a Parks and Wildlife hunting trip and one time in Willard’s motorhome on a Fourth of July fishing trip to the coast.  My brother-in-law Steve will remember we had more than a few mishaps on these trips, which always adds to fun of sharing the stories later.
We always had some type of work to do, and we always mixed in some fun along with it along the way, but one of Opie’s rules, was always take care of work first and then we could have fun.  This is something I have tried to pass down to younger generations as well.
Opie, thank you for always being there for everyone.  We love you and I know you are rejoicing with Darcy in heaven right now.

If you knew Opie, you would know you would be greeted with a "Wie  Gehts" and he would have a hand out to shake it.  
He was always quiet, but he listened.  He also loved a good mix drink of Old Crow or Jim Bean and water on ice.  
My memories of him best are riding with him in the pasture in his truck and when he would get out to open the gate, I would drink out of his cup in the console.  (I was probably 5 years old.)  
He would sometimes ask if I drank some, but I just shook my head, "Oh no, Opie!"  
I remember him loving cows, the old horse named Ornery, and chickens.  I also remember many a dog through the years, but most of them were always Omie's dogs except for Bo.  Bo followed him everywhere.  
Opie liked reading the paper and enjoying morning coffee and he had a big sweet tooth.  
I knew if I would bring donuts over, they wouldn't go to waste.  
I would purposely buy the blue icing donuts just for Opie so it would turn  his lips and tongue blue.  
We would all get a good laugh out of it.  
Opie taught me at a young age that you could wave to cars going by the road.  
I would ask who was that and he would sometimes say, "Bucks da hoota swvunchville."  At least that what it sounded like.  He said it meant "I don't know."  
I will continue to use that one!  
I also liked when I would ride with him and if no one was coming, he would tell me "Ema Droof."    
So as I conclude, I would like to say "Machs Dut" to Opie.  We love you!


Our condolences to the Reimann family , we know how hard it is to give them up... But we also know Wallace is in a better place.  
Mom , Dad and Wallace have probably already played several hands of dominoes!!!  We Fey kids grew up in the Schertz VFW 8315 with the Reimanns and I have many happy memories of our times together. I think of y'all often. Our prayers are with your family and especially for Evaleen at this difficult time. 🙏

Wallace is preceded in death by his daughter, Darcy Lynne Beshea.
