Zita Marie Scheel Klar Lux, age 80 of San Antonio, formerly of Bulverde, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Feb. 9, 2010. Zita was born April 27, 1929 in Honey Creek to the late Alex and Laura Scheel. Zita loved her family and loved talking about her family to anyone that would listen. It’s amazing how many strangers became family in a matter of a few minutes by spending just a little time with Mom. She was known as “Momma” to many. Zita was a strong Christian woman who loved the Lord and shared her faith with those around her.
Zita is preceded in death by her first husband of 24 years, Gilbert J. Klar; her second husband of 13 years, Benno Lux, Sr.; her four brothers, Bonnie Scheel, Ewald Scheel, Michael Scheel, and Godfried Scheel; and her three sisters, Aurelia Syring, Ottilia Keller and Clara Friesenhahn.
Zita is survived by one brother: Alex Scheel Jr. and his wife, Edna; by her 10 children: Allen Klar and his wife, Karen; Catherine Novak and her husband, Tony; Virgil Klar; Florence Price and her husband, Greg; Larry Klar and his wife, Elaine; B. J. Klar and his wife, Nancy; Liz Klar and her significant other, Linda Lindsay; Tom Klar and his wife, Tracy; Theresa Klar; Vernon Klar and his fiancé Kim; and by her stepson Benno Lux Jr. and his wife, Glenda. Zita was a loving grandmother to 14 and a great-grandmother to 10. Zita touched the lives of many and will be missed by all that knew her.
The family wishes to thank Linda Fredrick, Zita’s Christian Senior Companion for all the love and support she gave mom.
The rosary and the viewing will be held on Friday, Feb. 12, 2010 at Zoeller Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 13, 2010 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church at Honey Creek with Father Jimmy Drennan officiating. A reception will follow in the Parish Hall at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she was a life-long member from her birth to her death.
