Alfred Jan Korwek

Alfred Jan Korwek, 70 of New Britain, beloved husband of Halina (Szpytka) Korwek, passed away on Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at the Hospital of Central CT surrounded by his loving family. Born on March 11 1956, in Pianki, Poland, he was the son of Edward and Zofia (Lemańska) Korwek, and was a member of the Sacred Heart Church in New Britain.

He came to the US from Poland in 1990. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren. Enjoyed reading history and military books, enjoyed fishing, swimming, watching discovery channel animal shows. A hardworking man, always willing to help others.

A loving husband, father, grandfather (dziadek), brother, and uncle, he is survived by his wife Halina; his children: Artur Korwek, Magdalena Mlyniec and their families; his grandchildren: Aleksander, Sebastian, Anthony and Leo; his siblings: Grażyna Olszewska, Wanda Wilk, Jarosław Korwek, Robert Korwek and their families and many family members and friends in the US and Poland.

He was predeceased by his parents and his brother Wiesław Korwek.

Family and friends are invited to call on Friday, June 26, 2026 from 5pm to 8pm at the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave New Britain, CT 06053. Funeral services for Alfred will begin on Saturday June 27, 2026 at 8:30 am from the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 am., at Sacred Heart Church, New Britain, CT. He will be laid to rest in Sacred Heart Cemetery, New Britain, CT.
