A member of our family has left us. He is my brother Angelo. Although he was born with limited abilities, I know that he has contributed to this world in his own way. I am confident that his worth in GOD’s eyes is beyond measure. I am grateful for the time we had together.
As a child I remember how I use to love to play with him. He would chase me around the house and sometimes he would pick me up so I could touch the ceiling. It was so much fun.
As I got older in high school I remember him bringing me his weekly paycheck, as he only trusted me with them so I opened a savings account for him.
When I got married I moved to California, and when I came to visit he would be so happy to see me and my family. We would take him out for long walks, to the mall for some shopping, out to eat which he really enjoyed and spending lots of time with the family.
When I looked at my Brother Angelo’s face I saw kindness, honesty, and peace within himself. I saw patience, persistence and most of all I saw love and appreciation for life. My brother taught me an important lesson on how to incorporate all those thoughts and feelings in my daily life. Thank GOD I have been touched by an angel.
He is in a better place now and my heart will slowly mend, but will never be the same again. He will always be loved and never forgotten. He will truly be missed.
May GOD grant him eternal peace to enter through the gates of the highest level of paradise.
