Ann Barbara Lesinski Figat succumbed to a five year battle with cancer, surrounded at home by her loving family on Thursday, January 30. Born in Jednorozec, Poland on March 22, 1946, she was the daughter of Stanislaw and the late Czeslawa (Chudzik) Lesinski. She immigrated to the United States in 1948, growing up in Manchester, Hartford and West Hartford. She graduated from Bulkeley High School in 1964, attended Morse Business School, and in 1974 married Andrzej Figat, making her home in Newington and New Britain. She retired from the American Radio Relay League in early 2013. She served as secretary of the Polish National Alliance Lodge 2612.
In addition to her father, she leaves behind her four children and their families: son Christopher and his wife Subrina (Persaud) Figat of Bristol, daughter Stasia and her husband Alex Rivera of New Britain, daughter Joanna and her husband Patrick Cistulli of Bristol, and son Paul and dear friend Sani Zanovic of New Britain. She also leaves adored granddaughters Veronica Rivera and Celina Cistulli, grandsons Jashua and Justin Rivera, her sister Christine with husband John Lussier of Randolph, Vermont, and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. She was predeceased by her mother in 2003.
Funeral Services will be on Monday, February 3, 2014 at 9:00 AM at the New Britain Mmeorial-Sagarino Funereal Home, 444 Farmington Ave. New Britain, followed by the funeal liturgy at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Church. Burial will follow at Sacred Heart Cemetery. Calling hours will be on Sunday, Februay 2nd from 4-6PM at the funeral home, Directions: Exit 37 off I-84 take a right at the exit, funeral home is 1/12 miles on your right.
