Annie, at 89 years old, passed peacefully from this world to be Home with The Lord on August 25, 2013.
Annie was born in Shirley Ma. on May 17, 1924. She was a daughter of the late John P. Esielionis of Shirley, Ma, and the late Caroline T. Wolangewicz of Leominster, Ma. She came from a family of 5 children and was an identical twin to dear sister Mary. Annie was a wartime bride and married Joseph Liberty DeMarco (also an identical twin!) on the 4th of July. Annie enjoyed good health all of her life, and was blessed with a strong Lithuanian constitution, suffering little or no pain throughout her life until she neared the end of her journey. Even though Annie didn’t have a formal education, it didn’t stop her from being inquisitive and outspoken. She had a great sense of adventure and loved the travels she and Joe took over the years. Annie was a voracious reader and spent many hours reading the works of her favorite authors. She also admired the works of nutritional guru Adelle Davis and was unafraid to dish out advice on what vitamins and minerals she thought we should be taking for any and all ailments, physical and emotional. Her love of music was profound. None of us can remember a day when the radio in the kitchen wasn’t tuned in and turned up to songs from the 40’s and 50’s with Annie happily humming along while she drank her (killer) cup of coffee and made her breakfast. Her faith was strong and she was looking forward to joining her late & loving husband Joe, who passed in 1986, and her beloved sister Frances, who passed too young, in their afterlife. May they be there to welcome Annie Home. Her family wishes her great blessings and happiness. She has now found peace. She is survived by her three daughters: Rosa DeMarco and her lifelong partner Lee Steele, Bo DeMarco and husband Jeff Wakelee, and Ange DeMarco and her lifelong partner, Jim Parise. The family also wishes to convey sincere gratitude to the kind , giving, and caring people at Countryside Manor of Bristol, Ct., and the hospice team at Bristol Hospital, including volunteers. All were loving and comforting and made Annie’s last days and hours comfortable and peaceful. Calling hours will be on Thurs., Aug. 29, from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon at New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home , 444 Farmington Av., New Britain, Ct. 06053 . Burial is at the convenience of the family. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to The American Cancer Society “for research purposes only”.
