Barbara A. Delaney

Barbara A. (Weksner) Delaney, 55, of New Britain, passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2016 with her family close by her side. She was the beloved wife of Michael Delaney for 35 years. Born on March 1, 1961 in New Britain, CT, she was the daughter of the late Edward Weksner Sr. and Bernice (Cayer) Weksner and was the 2nd youngest of five children.

Barbara dedicated her life to her family and as it grew she took on the role of a stay-at-home mom and was heavily active in her children’s lives whether it was chaperoning school trips, dropping off at after school activities, or entertaining on days off she always put her children first. She also ran an at home daycare, later she went on to start her own cleaning business, and most recently worked as a Homemaker/Companion. Barbara enjoyed camping with her family, trips to the beach, crafts, and could often be found floating in her pool soaking up the sun. Most recently, she found joy in spending time with her grandchildren.

Along with her husband she is survived by her four children; Jonathan Delaney & spouse Tiffany (Cuhna) Delaney of Manchester, CT, Nicholas Delaney & spouse Melinda (Matthews) Delaney of New Britain, CT, Jeremy Delaney, & Bethany Delaney of New Britain, CT as well as her two granddaughters Taylor & Peyton Delaney and her Grandson Flynn Delaney. She is also survived by her brother Edward Weksner Jr. & spouse Diane (Perzan) Weksner of Lunenburg, MA. Sisters; Marianne (Weksner) Dobkin & Spouse Cary Dobkin of Southington, CT, Lori (Weksner) Bacon of Middletown, CT and Sandy (Weksner) Slater & spouse James Slater of New Britain, CT as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Please join us for a celebration of Barbara’s life on Friday July 8, 2016 at the New Britain Memorial-Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain.CT. Calling hours are from 4pm to 7pm with a memorial service to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society which was a charity dear to Barbara’s heart.
