Brian Kelly, age 65, of New Britain, beloved husband of 41 years to Susan (Sikora) Kelly, entered into eternal rest unexpectedly on Friday, September 20, 2019 surrounded by his loving family at home. Son of the late James and Anne (Walincius) Kelly, he was born on June 25, 1954. He graduated from New Britain High School residing in New Britain for 65 years. He was a proud veteran having served in the U.S .Navy. Mr. Kelly was employed by Wiremold Legrand, as a Tool & Die Maker for 33 years having just retired this past June. He was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and all around amazing guy. Brian always looked at the bright side of things and loved entertaining. He was a talented carpenter although not by trade he could widdle anything out of wood. Brian loved the outdoors including, hiking, canoeing, camping, and fishing. He built a blueberry patch in his backyard that he proudly cared for. An avid animal lover, Brian spent endless time caring for his dog Hunter. In addition to his loving wife Susan, Brian is survived by his children, Aaron Kelly, Sarah Kelly Russo and her husband Michael Russo, Johnathan Kelly, his grandchildren Briana and Camden Lavoie. He also leaves his sister, Patricia Cote and her husband Chris, of Berlin and three brothers, Jim Kelly and his wife Karen of Burlington, Robert Kelly of Berlin, and Andrew Kelly and his wife Cheryl of East Hartford. He also leaves his special niece and many wonderful nephews. He was predeceased by his mother and father Anne and James Kelly and a nephew Shawn Kelly.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2019 at 9:00 am at New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at Holy Cross Church, 31 Biruta St., New Britain, with Military Honors. The hours for visitation will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm at the New Britain Memorial & Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Ave., New Britain, CT 06053. Interment will be private.
