Catherine A. Lopez

LOPEZ, Catherine Ann "Katie Mae" Lopez, 93, of Hartford, CT (formerly of New Britain, CT), wife of the late Albert Lopez, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, (March 25, 2010) with her family by her side.

Born in Wareham, MA, on November 25, 1916, to the late Mary Roderick and Daniel Andrews. She had been a resident of New Britain most of her life, before to moving to Hartford. Prior to her retirement she worked at Stanley Works for 27 years. Kiki was a warm and compassionate woman who truly loved all of her family. There was not a meal she would not cook for you or a family event to miss.

Besides her one and only daughter, Marie Lopez Kirkley-Bey, she is survived by her three grandchildren, Frederick and Bettie Martin of Hartford, Lisa Martin of East Hartford, Kelly Kirkley-Bey of Hartford; seven great-grandchildren, Monika Martin, Patrice Reynolds, Renee Martin, John (Sugie) Beverley, Etta Martin, Connor Martin, Caleb Martin; four great-great-grandchildren, Brian Proctor, Jr., Brice Proctor, MaKenzie O'Meally, and Darryl O'Meally, Jr. Also to mourn her passing, she leaves a sister Gloria Alves of Southington and a brother Manuel Andrews of New Britain, a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and especially Linda Porter and Carol Scott. She was predeceased by Ambrose Andrews, Peter Andrews, Joseph Andres, Amelia (Minnie) Lima, and Charles (Chuck) Roby.

Katie Mae's funeral services will be Monday March 29, 2010 at 9AM from the New Britain Memorial Donald D. Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue, New Britain, followed by her Liturgy of Christian Burial, 10 AM, at St. Marys Church, 544 Main St., New Britain.
