Charlotte H. Vasile

Charlotte (Cookie) Vasile of New Britain Connecticut returned to our most merciful Lord on February 03, 2014. She was born on February 25, 1935 in Hartford, Connecticut to the late Bertha Olinsky Hilinsky and Stanley Cuper. She graduated from Newington High School in 1953 and was employed as a Clerk for the Aetna Insurance Company and later as the Secretary for the Paul A. Vasile Plumbing and Heating Company. Cookie was an active member of St. Ann Roman Catholic Church and the parish Ladies Guild. She was also a member of the Berlin Garden Club and enjoyed spending time at their summer home at Chalker Beach in Old Saybrook, Connecticut where she liked to walk the beach, collect sea glass and ride her bicycle. She leaves behind her beloved husband of fifty eight years, Paul Anthony Vasile of New Britain, Connecticut, her loving sons Paul William Vasile of New Britain, Connecticut, Brigadier General (CT) Ret Michael Anthony Vasile and his wife Barbara Theriault Vasile of East Haddam, Connecticut and her one granddaughter Stephanie Antoinette Vasile as well as several nieces including Joanne Bates of Southington, Connecticut and Terry Busheme of Glastonbury, Connecticut. Calling hours will be on Wednesday, February 05, 2014 from 4:00 – 6:00 p.m. at the New Britain Memorial Sagarino Funeral Home, 444 Farmington Avenue in New Britain, Connecticut and a Mass of Christian Funeral services will be held on Thursday, February 06, 2014 beginning at 9:00 am at the Funeral Home, followed by a Mass of funeral liturgy 10:00 a.m. at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church located at 47 Clark Street in New Britain, Connecticut.

Burial will follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
